Glastonbury – “Europe’s largest open-air music festival” featured Bat for Lashes, Lady Gaga, Neil Young, and others. I would love to make it to one of these in the next few years – while I can still rock it. Check out these amazing pictures, and see more here.
I have quite a bit of free time right now, so I have decided to obtain some new skills – for example, it is a goal of mine to become a semi-pro in After Effects (good luck!).
Last week we went to a football game – Riders vs. Stampeders.
Aside from the disappointing score, the cheerleaders were hot, the beer was cold and it didn’t rain. I think the boys were pretty happy with that.
Plus, we have a few video to show for it. First one is Igor’s animation which played on the JumboTron at the game – the reason why we actually went to the game:
Those who know me well have, for sure, entered my house to all kinds of odd music in foreign languages. I love World Music – from Brasilian samba to French electronic musicĀ (Air!), Middle-Eastern (YES!) and African pop (Salif Keita, anyone?), Serbian, Greek & Turkish ethnic beats to Caribbean love chansons – I love it all.
Anyways, since my friend Abdallah introduced me to Amr Diab, he hasn’t stopped being a regular on my playlist.
Amr Diab is an Egyptian pop singer, often referred to as the King of Mediterranean music, since he has “ruled” the area for the last two decades. Not only is he the definition of a gorgeous Egyptian male (with a Vin Diesel twist), but his songs make me melt and wish I was on a beach in the Adriatic. One of my favourite things is the fact that I don’t understand the lyrics – I give my own meaning to every track.
