Currently reading: Ivo Andric

Ivo Andric (October 9, 1892 – March 13, 1975) was a Yugoslav novelist, short story writer, and the 1961 winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.

I’m starting with The Damned Yard (Prokleta Avlija) and working my way down the list.

Nothing sounds like that afterhours place in Zurich.. Well, maybe this track.

Introducing: The Republics

Looking at album art is so inspiring, I thought I’d do my own take on it. If we were a band, we’d be called The Republics. Meet Croatia, Bosnia & Serbia. Get it? :)

BEIRUT

600px-beirut-gulag_orkestar

Here’s another find by my music mogul, Bobbi.. I’ve been off world music for a brief while, engulfing myself in electro & indie. Beirut is enough, though, to electroshock me back into my love of classic mixed with modern, ethnic sounds.

Founder of Beirut was greatly influenced by Goran Bregovic, a person whose music I know all too well, and it sounds lovely. Enjoy.
